Facebook Ads budget modeling estimates how many results overall, such as clicks, leads, or purchases, a given ad budget can be expected to produce. Media buyers and small business owners use it to plan campaign budgets and set realistic expectations before spending a dollar on Meta, rather than launching a campaign with no sense of how far the budget will actually stretch.

Formula

Estimated Results = Budget / Cost per Result

Cost per result is whatever the campaign is actually optimizing for, a click, a lead, or a purchase, and it is not a fixed number. It varies by industry, audience size, competition, and campaign objective, so this calculator is meant to be used once you already know your own typical cost per result from Meta Ads Manager, letting you model different budget scenarios against your real historical numbers rather than a guess.

Example

Example, using a hypothetical illustrative cost per result: you set a $1,000 monthly budget, and your own past campaigns show a typical cost per purchase of $25. Estimated Results = 1,000 / 25 = 40 purchases for the month, assuming performance holds roughly steady across the flight.

FAQ

Why does my cost per result vary so much between different campaigns?

Cost per result shifts with audience size, how much competition there is for that audience, the campaign objective you are optimizing for, creative quality, and even seasonality, since ad costs tend to rise around major shopping periods like the holidays. Two campaigns targeting different audiences for the same product can have very different costs per result even with an identical budget and near-identical creative.

Should I set a daily budget or a lifetime budget?

A daily budget gives predictable, capped day-to-day spending and is easier to monitor and adjust manually as results come in. A lifetime budget lets Meta's delivery system pace your spend across the whole flight, shifting more budget toward the days it predicts will perform best. Neither is universally better, the right choice depends on how tightly you want to control daily spend versus letting the algorithm optimize pacing on your behalf.
